I’ve spent 6 weeks in Hoi An and I’ve eaten from many different restaurants. In Hoi An my favorite restaurant is Sao Mai and they serve amazing food. We have eaten local fruit, smoothies, Vietnamese street foods and luxury hotel buffets. The markets serve all sorts of foods from smoothies to noodles. Hoi An is very famous for seafood such as crabs, prawns and fish. These are my top foods in Hoi An Vietnam, you should try them.
Top Foods in Hoi An. These are my five favorites.
Mi Quang is a noodle based dish with quail eggs, pork and prawns served at any time of the day. We normally eat it for breakfast. It’s normally served with herbs, peanuts, fried won-tons, chilies and lemons/limes.
Pho Bo is a noodle based soup dish with beef, rice noodles, fresh vegetables and herbs. Bo means beef in Vietnamese and it’s pronounced boh.
Banh Xeo is a savoury pancake which you roll in rice paper and dip in sauce. The pancake it contains prawns, pork, and bean sprouts. They give you fresh mint and lettuce to put inside the pancake.
Pizza is great here. You can get it delivered or buy it from a restaurant. The cheese is really nice I would say the best pizza in south east Asia.
Banh It Dua
Banh It Dua are little rice cakes wrapped in banana leaf. These ones are done with coconut and sweet jelly like rice on the outside. We buy them from the local market for 5000 dong (25 cents) each.
